A year old baby boy saw the moon for the first time this morning. He marveled at the site of this creation of God as his father told him the name of that beautiful light. He pointed his finger up to it and said ‘moon’! He has always awakened when the moon was gone and back to sleep before the moon was up.
This child-like wonder at the glory of God warmed my heart. His day is fashioned to protect him and everything is meant for good.
And the innocence of a child reminds us that our Heavenly Father is a marvelous Light in this world of darkness as we walk through it in His love and mercy. He is an ever present help in times of trouble where our faith is tested, and He is always shining His light on us.
It brings our focus back to His grace so sufficient, so miraculous. How can we ever not trust the One that gave the sacrifice of His life so willingly to us.
A precious memory with my mother is when we would look at the moon together and she would say, I see the moon and the moon sees me, God bless the moon and God bless me.
