Remembering God's Promises

Remembering God’s Promises #56 – 2-5-24

Word of Encouragement

God weaves a beautiful tapestry for us everyday. He connects those he would have connected and He makes a way as the day goes on. We don’t worry or fret because He is with us in every waking hour and every hour we sleep. It dawned on me the other day how some people talk about being lonely, but I have never had that feeling. I try to always comfort those that say they are lonely, but I’ve never understood how it felt. Some of you relate. My favorite thing is being in the woods with the Lord. He is always by my side. The conversation never stops. I feel Him close and even when things get me riled, I’ll say, ‘Lord, please don’t let me get in your way of handling this.’ Or if something makes me sad, I know I can trust in Him to lean close and comfort me. In these times when we remember all His promises and we stand on them, it just makes for such a jolly day. There may come wars, people do tend to want to bomb stuff and every nation tries to outdo the other. The Lord is in control of everything. There may be a shortage of food or somebody may say we need a mark to buy it. God provides so dance on in your day. We are always sad when we lose someone, and the Lord always sits with us in those times and allows us to go through that gradual road of recovery. With Him ALWAYS with us, there is no need to fret or grow weary. If you are weary of working with things you feel the Lord has you to do, or weary dealing with His peculiar people (as we are called), take a break and sit with Him in a quiet swing in the sunshine and have a conversation with him. He loves going down memory lane when you remind Him of all the times He’s been with you and all the times He has seen you through. He laughs with us in a belly laugh at some of it. It gets pretty hilarious sometimes. There are many in the bible that had to, at some time or another, be encouraged. I told Him recently that my favorite thing to do is be alone in the woods with Him. A light came on in my head and I could just hear Him laugh, “That’s why you’ve never felt alone.” God bless you!

The dream

In the night of 8/22/21, I had a dream where I was receiving three nights stay for somebody on the third floor of a hotel. I saw three tickets in my hand and looked beyond to where the building was. I thought about giving them to my brother that is the third child in my family and lives out of town, but I wound up giving them to a lady that was homeless. It broke my heart because she had no place to go and I cried. We went into the hotel and found on that third floor that there were two children that also needed tending. That took care of the three tickets. As I began taking care of them, the lights went out. I knew water would stop soon. I started storing water in everything, even shoes, anything to store water. When I finished that I stopped to think if I needed to get them somewhere else to better take care of them. At that point, the lights came back on where we were. I was so thankful to see the lights. My heart was so full. God had provided for our needs.

I woke realizing again as I have been lately that God is in control and leading the way in His strength and His power. He is showing me things at the end of dreams lately like in our day what we go through and at the end of the day He gives us either a beautiful sunset or the lights are on and I feel His presence. It’s like, through His might and His power, we made it!

At the end of every day after He has led us along the way, we rest in Him and it was good and it is good. We worry so much that we aren’t following Him or that we aren’t in His will. He is giving encouragement lately that we are and He knows, even when we don’t know. Our ways are not His ways so we don’t see the tapestry He weaves and how He uses us in it. Just being willing to be used opens the door for Him to use us every day, so rest in that. He is so good. He is showing us how He sees our day. He leads the way and He provides. He saw all this coming. He isn’t surprised.

As we armor up every day with Ephesians 6, don’t forget the other most powerful weapons we are blessed with, prayer and love. We can plan and worry all day long, but at the end of the day we can look up and see a beautiful thing. He was with us. As we pray over our prayer list and favorite scriptures, and thank Him for another day, we can then give it all to God and go to sleep.

His Precious Scripture:

John 13:34-35 – A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye love one to another.

Isaiah 58:10-11 – And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday: And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

Proverbs 16:9 – A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.

Luke 12:24 – Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?

Isaiah 43:2 – When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
