A Time To Trust – Written 7-9-20 –

Most of us have trouble getting that human nature called worry out of the way. I have heard all my life that there is a time for everything under the sun. I didn’t realize in my younger years that this is in the bible (Ecclesiastes 3). Now is the time to trust. It is a time to trust that in all this chaos, God is at work. His word tells us to be still and know.

When He told me not long ago, steady as she goes, I knew that old nautical phrase was saying to stay the course and remain steadfast. Be silent to Hear His voice, be trustful, and be watchful. Don’t make any sudden moves without the Captain’s command. Remain in prayer and the shadow of His wings in the secret place. Be ready for any instruction, shining His light across the waters.

Yesterday some disturbing news came across my phone as a headline that really frustrated me. A thought ran across my mind ‘take it with a grain of salt’. This is another old saying. I immediately stopped worrying about it and put my trust in the Lord.

Last night as I was drifting off to sleep the bible on my nightstand came to mind. I could see the light burst forth from within. This is for our comfort, not the nightstand or bottom drawer. Seeing this light burst forth reminded me of my first encounter with the prayer closet. The words in this book came alive and I knew they did. For the first time I actually realized within my soul the meaning of ‘in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God’ in John 1:1.

The story has always been, it is now, and it will never go away. He is and was and always will be. In a dream last year He said to His people pray and put it all out there; fill the gaps. This comes to mind so much now. This Word represented in the dream as beautiful fruit that will never go bad. He is saying that He is the Word and the Word is Him. Put it out there. Let His people know.

God is speaking at this time so loudly to warn as well as give comfort. Trust in the shadow of His wing, His guidance, and His steering. This is the time the Good Shepherd is taking us through. This is a time of rest for the soul as we pray and fill the gaps. Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ that put it all out there. To God be the glory.
