Taking Care of the Body of Christ – 3-25-24

Such a flower shining in the darkness.

Going through some things in life like sickness and taking care of loved ones in sickness for an extended period can take a toll. Its one of the times we have to remain close to the Lord and those He has put in our life to hold us up when we are weak. When we are weak He is strong, and He is strong through those He gives us on this earth. Even when we can’t be a blessing to these for awhile, they can be a blessing to us. Leaving them because we feel useless is a joy to the enemy.

I realized from experience that we have to stay where the Lord plants us. He knows where we will grow and be accepted. His strength and peace works through those around us to comfort us and keep us looking up. Sometimes we get accustomed to people letting us go and forgetting we were there. I asked the Lord about the one that was led to start this prayer group. Her kind words during this time were so overwhelming, it was the only time I would break down and cry. Her Christ-like words were such a comfort. I asked the Lord, ‘Why is she so kind to me that left the group. I can’t be a blessing to anybody right now.”

During the night of 3/17/24, He answered that question. He showed me and He told me, ‘She is taking care of the body.” He said again, “She is taking care of the body of Christ.” That is what they were all doing. Some I didn’t realize it until I got back. They had never stopped praying and lifting me up. The Lord showed me He uses these to comfort us and keep us looking up. I won’t go into how he showed me, but he uses simple ways to speak to me. He knows who we are.

I hope this story helps you when you are in troubled waters. If you can’t be a blessing to those around you where the Lord has planted you, let them be a blessing to you. We can’t always give and take care of, but during those times we can let them give and take care of us. Its very humbling to be comforted and accepted in that way. It is not easy to receive when we are accustomed to being the one that gives. I pray you be comforted in troubled waters.

1 Corinthians 12:12 – NKJV – For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.

Ephesians 4:1-7 NKJV – I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

1 Corinthians 12:27 – NKJV – Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.

I went through three drafts trying to get this typed and it continued to format in its own way and delete so I pray it comes across in a format that can be read. God bless you all!
