The Enemy in Addiction – 6-23-23

There are rivers of living waters that never run dry. There is the bread of life, Jesus, that is there every step of the way. We have a comforter to hold us and teach us all things. Yet, so many are in darkness and have no idea. I was speaking to someone recently that said they couldn’t seem to do enough. They couldn’t seem to do anything right. They can see themselves slowly losing everything. This person is held in chains through addiction. Addiction is the enemy stealing you of everything, even yourself. This person can’t see it. They think it is their family and their closest friends. They cannot see that reaching out and admitting they have a problem will begin their climbing out of that pit and onto solid ground. You have a choice and everybody you know and love will have to live with the choice you make.

If you are held bondage in addiction, your true family and friends have not turned their backs on you. They just cannot stand by any longer and watch you allow the enemy to take your life. The enemy is in the pill, he is in the alcohol, and he is in the dealer. That should be a strong message to us all. We have a choice. Stop letting the enemy steal, kill, and destroy. Stop letting the enemy take everything you have been blessed with in this life. God gave us free will.

I’ve often heard that those that come out of prison and/or addiction walking with Jesus make the devil tremble when they walk. Jesus will take you in your lowest point and make you the strongest in His kingdom. He takes the most uneducated, the most unqualified, and turns them completely around to confine the wise.

I pray that if you are in addiction, you will reach out for help.

John 7:37-39 NKJV – On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water”. But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

John 10:10 NKJV – The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

2 Peter 3:9 NKJV – The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Galations 5:13 NKJV – For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

Revelation 3:20 NKJV – Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

John 6:35 NKJV – And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

1 Corinthians 1:27 NKJV – But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;

Acts 4:13 NKJV – Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.
