Remembering God's Promises

Remembering God’s Promises #33 – 11-2-23

As a child of God we are not of this world, although we are in it. With the light of Jesus in us, we should be standing out and standing firm at this time. This is not just so that we ourselves are taken care of, but so that the beacon of His light can shine through us for others to see and be drawn to it.

We have so many promises in the bible to stand on and believe in. Promises that we know beyond a shadow of a doubt are alive in His word that is alive. I never get a warning without one of those promises coming through as well. The warning is just to let us know to prepare. The promise is something to stand on so that we have faith without fear.

I had a dream last night that seemed to go on forever. What stood out was that a minister I wasn’t comfortable with (that I don’t actually know) asked me for my phone but instead I gave him my granddaughter’s phone. I couldn’t find mine. The minister took the phone and with others began doing something to it. I was waking and heard that they’re giving information to the children and planting things in their heads. The children are being prepared in ‘their’ way for ‘their’ control. I went right back to sleep and was driving down the road with my headlights on. It was dark everywhere. I came upon a bridge I was about to go under when I noticed the road bulking up. It was like an earthquake happening ‘a shaking’. The road in front of me suddenly bulked about twenty feet high and I didn’t have time to brake. I knew like in other times to call the name of Jesus and He would help me. I called his name twice and my vehicle began driving on over the bulked up asphalt as if it were just a smooth part of the road. I woke immediately and realized I had actually called Jesus’ name out loud.

Isaiah 24 came to mind so I began reading. This chapter gives a clear picture of the future of those in wickedness. But for the follower of Christ, Verse 13-14 reads – When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people, there shall be as the shaking of an olive tree, and as the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done. They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the Lord, they shall cry aloud from the sea.

Then in devotions I was again reminded that we will always have the Lord with us to help us with whatever comes our way. We are blessed to know the joyful sound and walk in the light of His countenance. We don’t have to fear what we are seeing at this time. Focus on the promises. Set your spiritual backbone straight and know who you are. You are a child of the most high God, the King and Ruler of all nations and all peoples. Be the red bird thriving in color and singing as this icy, dark world around us does what it is going to do. Stand! Stand on the promises! Be the beacon that will draw those in darkness to Jesus. God bless you!
