Still Waters 2-24-21

There’s nothing like being on a fishing boat on a still summer night. Those nights you appreciate the warmth and the calmness, because you know there are times it’s not quite that way. I’ve been on a boat when we prayed all the way to the dock. A storm can come up at any time without notice. It may not have even been forecasted. When lightning strikes and winds roar, you pray for the shore.

In our lives we have calm, still waters the Lord leads us to, and just because a storm rages around us without warning, doesn’t mean we can’t still walk by those calm, still waters. I will admit, I get knocked off my feet from time to time, but I have to remember God’s words ‘be still and know’. When those words come into my spirit, I am able to stand again and stand firm. I know that whatever storm is raging around me, His promises are for now and He is my shore. I also know when I find myself with a storm raging within, I am not in His Word and in prayer, because when it begins and I am in His Word and in prayer, all I have to say is Jesus what is this I feel, and it goes.

With God, there is no time. The words are in the beginning and they are for now. They have always been for now. They will always be for now. And they ring true now.

God bless you as you stand on God’s promises now and hang on to God the Father, His Precious Son, and His Holy Spirit.

Psalm 46:10 – He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth”.

Psalm 23:2 – He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside still waters.

Psalm 91:14 – “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

John 1:1 – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
