“I am still King” – 10-19-22

I wrote this after I went to vote. It is dated September 10, 2016. There was so much anger in the world, just as we see today. I called it Sparrow-inspired from the experience that day. Praise be to the only King that is worthy!

I went to vote and I struggled with my hands over one and then the other.

“I am still King”, He said in that still small voice.

I stopped and looked around at all the people waiting.

“I am still King.”

I made my choice and walked out as people impatiently stared.

“I am still King.” “I love you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.”

I went and sat in a park. I closed my eyes as the sun hit my face. A sparrow flew to the end of the bench where I sat. He made his presence known with a chirp. The cheerful sound filled the air as he spread wings to fly. Other birds joined in and it was a symphony in the atmosphere.

“I am still King”, He said.

Winds whipped around and sang as angel voices and the birds in the air soared. I knelt by the bench so humbled at the sight and sounds. My doubt and my unbelief.

“I am with you. I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Holy to the King of Kings. The clouds danced across the sun and as they left, the sun burst forth again. Rays of light striking my face so intense the tears fell in praise. Holy is His name.

“My love for you is no less than the sparrow”. “Stand, arise, walk with Me. Don’t look to the left or to the right. But to me. Greater am I in you than he who is in the world.” “Lift your hands to Me. Lift your voice. I am the King of Kings, the Great I Am.” “I flood your soul with the song of My Light. Of My Kingdom.” “I prepare you with My truth and My light. I send you into the world with My love and My peace.” “Keep your eyes on Me. Come into Me in this time of uncertainty. Hear My voice My child. Let all doubts and fears fall away. Let Me prepare your heart. For all that is good and Holy is My way. Just Me and you. I take your brokenness and I make something so beautiful. You shine in My eyes. You shine before Me. You are beautiful. What awaits you is nothing to compare to your plan. Keep your eyes on Me.”

I pray that we can all put our faith and trust totally in the Lord today. We can plant the seeds and we can water what is planted, but only God can make things grow. That tells us that He is in control of everything. 1 Corinthians 3:7
