The mornings are not as sharp with cold as I sit in the swing. The birds are singing a new song. Flowers are blooming with a yellow beauty all their own. These things usher in a new season not far away, and we count down the days.

It is the same with the return of Christ. He gives us a new song in our heart that bursts forth like a beautiful flower, ushering in that day we will meet Him in the air.

The armor of God was given to us so we, not fighting the adversary ourselves, rest in the Lord-the author and finisher of our faith. We have cast off the darkness of this world and put on the breastplate of righteousness.

Our sword is the Word. It is a living word and it speaks to us every day. Our feet walk in peace with a great love in our heart for our brothers and sisters. And in that day, we stand. We stand with our shield of faith.

I pray that today you rest in Jesus. When the cares of this world overtake us, sitting before our Savior covers us with peace in whatever seems to be bringing us down. He covers us with His feathers and gives us a new song and a beautiful love.

I speak often of the times I open the bible to Haggai 1:13 ‘then spake Haggai the Lord’s messenger in the Lord’s message unto the people, saying, I am with you, said the Lord!

And He assures us in Joshua 1:9 ‘Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord our God is with you wherever you go.’
