In Our Weakness – 2-26-21

God’s artwork greets us every day. It never ceases to amaze me. Imagine His creations we have never laid eyes on, creations in space and under the sea. He loves us an awful lot, you and me.

He tells us His grace is sufficient for every day. He has shown me this before in a powerful way. Grace is something we can’t even fathom with our earthly minds. We talk about it and we know it’s there, but we don’t truly grasp everything it means. When we admit our weakness, we are decreasing to show His increase as His power rests on us. Through all the hardships and persecutions in our weakness, Christ in us is strong. In our mistakes and difficulties, He is still there to help along the way, just as He reached down and pulled Peter out of the water where he sank as His faith doubted and fear set in. Jesus didn’t turn His back on him and say ‘hey, you doubted in your fear and weakness, have fun with that swim in this torrential storm’. No, Jesus answered Peter’s prayer to save him.

If you beat yourself up and tell yourself you are no good, remember that Someone loves you so much that He gave His only begotten Son that those that will believe in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. His Son was beaten and nailed to a cross. His blood was shed for the atonement of our sins. In three days He arose again and sits on the right side of the Father. Our God in heaven did this for us. If you think today that you can do nothing, just remember, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

I pray that you wrap your arms around yourself today with encouragement in the Lord.

Matthew 14:27-31 KJV – But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And He said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth His hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst though doubt?

2 Corinthians 12:9-11 NIV – But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness, Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
