The Power of Faith 9-10-20

The Power of Faith 9-10-20

There is a story in the bible of a woman that was said to be unclean.  I never really gave this much thought, but it has followed me all day. It has touched my heart so that I cannot get it off my mind. Can you imagine how she was shunned everywhere she went?  People whispering behind her back and saying ‘don’t touch her, get away’.  Can you imagine the time she must have spent alone in those twelve years?  I doubt she could even draw water from a well or go to the market without ridicule and scorn.  No doubt how she must have cried out to God in her tears and anguish.  Leviticus 15:25.

Her prayers were answered one day when she began to push her way through a crowd that was following a Man.  This was not just any man.  She knew that if she could touch His clothes she would be healed.  As soon as she touched his garment, she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.  Just touching His garment healed her.

Jesus stopped and said ‘who touched me’?  He felt the power go out of Him.  He walked back and searched.  She knew what had happened and fell at His feet, trembling.  His words must have touched her very soul as He said, ‘Daughter, your faith has healed you’.  Mark 5:25-34

I know that love that flowed between them.  I know it. He turned and continued walking on His journey.  I can’t imagine meeting Jesus and being able to just let Him walk away without following, because I met Him, and He made me whole.
