Christ’s birth was foretold in the old testament.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14
It amazes me every time I read it – so many years before His birth. And to think there was no room in the inn even though God loved us so much that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
The Lord speaks to me most times using scripture. John 1 tells us in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the word was God. The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.
In John 14 Jesus tells us that He (Jesus) is the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father, but by Him (Jesus).
I celebrate this season knowing that the Word we read is the living word. As Romans 6 reads, the wages of sin are death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
I pray blessings on you and your family at this time we set aside to celebrate the birth of Christ.
May the Lord preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. (Psalm 121:8 kjv)
