I took this picture. Sometimes God’s handiwork is breathtaking. Psalm 19:1-2 kjv – The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
On May 17, 2018, I sat in what I call my prayer swing. It’s a rope swing that overlooks the woods. Sometimes when I do that something will come to mind and I’ll write. This morning it was a tree that caught my attention:
I sit in the stillness of the morning and a tree catches my eye. It is deeply rooted and has green leaves so thick I can’t see inside but there is a dove going from ground to branch as it coos. It must be building a nest. This tree has withstood a lot of storms and never faltered. It is so useful to provide shade and shelter.
I see a few others that weren’t well rooted. They fell in the storm. They can’t help anything or anyone.
The green tree standing isn’t going to be distracted when the storms come again. It will keep doing what it’s purpose is. I never thought staring at a tree could tell me so much in how I need to be.
Being well rooted in Christ will keep the smile on my face. And no matter what comes along, I will keep doing what I’m supposed to do. Until the work is done and I’m called home.
God bless.
