Benevolent Spirit – May 2016

IMG_0060

In May of 2016, I asked God what is this?  I only wanted to hear from God.  I was always trying to make sure dreams were biblical.  I had forgotten I’d asked the question when one day I was working in the kitchen and heard behind my right ear ‘benevolent’.  It caught me off guard and I swung around and said what?  Then I heard benevolent spirit.  I didn’t even know what it meant.  I looked it up and the definition is good, kind, well meaning, helpful.

There was another time close to this that I was looking for Galatians in the bible.  I don’t have many devotions with that book, but I have many with Ephesians and had learned it is on page 236 in my bible.  A voice, again behind my right ear, said ‘its that book before Ephesians.  The one you found out was on page 236’.  I still doubted it was maybe my thinking and went to the content to find Galatians and sure enough that’s where it is.  I had even began scolding myself for putting such a thought into my head.

Another time I was in devotion and needed to find a verse.  I felt the Spirit would lead me to it like in Galatians so I sat back and waited.  Nothing happened so I looked to see where I was in the bible and I was already opened to it.  Deuteronomy 31:6 ‘Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, He it is that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee’.  He actually did lead me to it, so I knew this verse was significant for us at this time.

I am so humbled at how I have been comforted when spending time with the Lord.  There is so much that demands our time, but as He told us in Luke 10:42 ‘…Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her’.
